I'm leaving....on a Jetplane!

I bought the tickets yesterday! We leave at 6:00 am on Wednesday, Feb 13th. It's only a 6 hr and 33 minute flight to Guatemala City. We will be coming home Monday, May 12th at 9:40 pm. I expect to see you guys there..heehee.

It's official...we really are going! I can't really believe all of this is happening...and so fast too! I emailed our applications to the Foreign Missions Department yesterday. I also put all of the info we collected into a packet and sent it slow mail.

Application Packet -

• Application - basic info, plus a list of our skills, talents, and other easy to answer questions (not).
• Resume - this one had to include spiritual status, physical condition, financial condition, occupation, educational background, burdens, interests, and talents. Isn't that lovely?
• Letter of Pastoral Recommendation
• Recent Photo
• Check for $100 for the processing of the application.

All of that has been received by the FMD and is being processed. I spoke with a lady yesterday who is 99.9% positive there will be no issues and we will be approved next week. Let's hope this is the case. =)

Katie and I are studying Spanish like crazy. I bought a bunch of new things..books and cds. I also ordered 2 books from Amazon today on exploring Guatemala and the culture.

Things are happening very quickly...expect daily updates on the trip.
