Awesome Book

I think every woman should read this book. Contrary to what you first think when you see the title, the book has nothing to do with not being nice. However, it has everything to do with not being a "girl" and being responsible (or at least knowledgeable) about money.

I highly, highly, highly recommend you read this book...even if you aren't the person in your house who takes care of financial stuff. Actually, it's even more important for you to read it if you don't take care of it. This book makes it easy to understand and hits on key things that every woman should be aware of.

And guess what? Barnes and Noble has it for 3 bucks right now! I paid around 30 for mine a year or so ago. Sheesh! What a steal!

The synopsis of the book:

Do you have outstanding balances on your credit cards? Are you afraid to change jobs? Will you retire with nothing?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, behaviors that you learned as a girl may be denying your prosperity. Now, with the same frank advice and empowering information that made Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office a bestseller, Lois P Frankel, PhD tackles the 75 money mistakes that stand between women and the wealth they deserve such as:

* Mistake #4: Not playing to win.

* Mistake #10: Choosing to remain financially illiterate.

* Mistake # 20: Spending as an emotional crutch.

* Mistake #45: Saving instead of investing.

Frankel’s expert coaching tips give you the tools to make more money than you ever thought possible, and put the money to work to create wealth....sooner than you think!

Ok, you have talked me into it. I'll start reading this week! I have heard that no matter how much you trust someone....you ALWAYS need to have some kind of idea of were you stand financially.

If something were to happen to your spouse you would have no idea what was going on. What a sad place to be! I actually keep our books more than Dawson. I freak out if I don't know where we are financially! I trust him....but not that much!!! =)

I am with you Amber, This book is a MUST ready and I am going to get it this week. I think number 20 happens all too often. And like Melody said I have to know at all times where we are financially, for Bert and I it is an open book and we share the finances..sometimes it is all good and sometimes it is all stressful but at least we both carry the load!

All of you definitely need to read it - starting today!

I'm going to give it as graduation gifts this year, I do believe.

Oh and Melody, you can borrow mine while I'm gone. =)

Think I will get the book Amber! Bart is a Dave Ramsy fan and really into knowing what is going on with our finances even though I am the one who pays our bills and 'try' to budget. Yes, there are ups and downs to both spouses being in the know, but is a good thing so there are no suprises!! We go as far as being accountable and looking at each others credit reports each year. Thanks for the tip on the book Ambin :)
