Fun Weekend

The director of my office, Steve, was kind enough to invite me to spend the weekend with his family. They live about an hour and 15 minutes from Taipei. We (Steve, his wife, and I) drove down (or up or over....no idea where I am) after work on Friday. They have 3 children - 2 girls (ages 18 and 14) and a boy who is 3. The girls have been studying english and Steve and his wife speak excellent english.

A. wanted me to play the piano with him for forever! He doesn't mind that we have such a large language barrier....he loves to talk to me. =) Too bad I don't have a clue what he says.

Watching Little Mermaid in Chinese with A. (we only lasted about 5 minutes)

Saturday, they treated me to a fun day. We drove to a state park type area in the mountains about an hour from here. I got to see some lovely countryside and all kinds of fascinating things. The park area is very lovely. We parked on the side of the road and walked down to a little creek area with lots of pretty rocks. We spent a few hours frolicking around..feeding fish, putting our feet in the water, etc. (As a side note, I could only put one foot in the water because my iron burn is still a lovely open sore.)

Chilling on the rock
