For the past few months, Katie and I have been planning our spring break. Our plan has been to go wherever Spirit Air has $9 flights. We've been watching the flights and they finally started booking for March!
Well...Puerto Rico is the lucky destination for spring break! We talked Melody and Dawson and Dustin into going along with us. We are leaving from Ft. Lauderdale so we are going to be heading that way on March 20th and flying out on the 21st. We will have 4 days in Puerto Rico! Total round trip cost per person = 60 bucks! WOOHOOOO!!
I'll be keeping you guys updated on that trip. Now, if that wasn't exciting enough, we added something else.
Katie and I have been talking a lot about Guatemala lately. We really miss Sis. Lynne, the Thompsons, and everyone else (not to mention Pollo Campero ice cream). Well, I just emailed Sis. L the other day with a little update and I mentioned that Katie and I were monitoring flights and as soon as Guatemala tickets are on sale, we are coming. I told her she might just open the door one morning and find us standing there.
Sis. L is going on deputation in July so we really, really wanted to visit before she leaves. Last week, Spirit Air just happened to send out their weekly fare specials...and guess what was on sale? Katie and I have now added Guatemala to the itinerary. We have an hour and 40 minutes between our Puerto Rico flight landing in Ft. Lauderdale and our Guatemala flight leaving. =)
Now here is the part where YOU come in. Sis. L is getting me a list of stuff that the orphanage needs (to read about the orphanage, click here). One of the things she mentioned was that some of the kids do not have shoes. =( These little babies will definitely have shoes by the time we leave.
I'm going to be buying some stuff and taking it with me. I'm also planning on taking some money to buy stuff there. If you would like to be a part, just let me know. Even $5 goes a long way in a country where poverty is everywhere.

Does it have to be brand new or can I give you some of Talon's old shoes???
It can definitely be used!! There is a 10 month old boy in the orphanage..he's the youngest one. The next one is 6, I believe. That would be perfect!
Whoo hooooooooooo...PR here we come!
Is it okay to be jealous? Spirit Air? Never heard of them. Have to check that out. Share the "GOOD DEALS"!
If we get more on the orphanage details I can possibly coordinate something here in Sac.
Okay I signed up on SpiritAir to get updates. Give me some tips with the site though. $9 off club? Thanks, Amber!
I am soooo excited for you guys and SUPER jealous! I hope you have tons of fun! Btw, next time I am soooo coming with ya'll!
p.s. I am so disappointed that I couldn't go bowling with ya'll last time. I know it was for a birthday, but maybe we can go another time?
