Katie and I are working on day tres. We are absolutely loving every single thing we've seen and experienced so far. Guatemala is gorgeous! This is going to be a super long post....grab your popcorn. =)
It would not be hard to live here and maintain the same (relatively) standard of living. They have everything in the grocery store, which is owned by walmart. They even carry Equate brand! Katie and I could barely soak it all in.
I took some pictures of the view from our deck (off of our room) this morning. Is this not gorgeous? And Sis. L says its puny because this is the dry season and its usually greener! Imagine that! Katie and I sat out there last night and studied Spanish. It's very relaxing. Oh and I can't forget to mention that we can see 2 active volcanos from our deck. They are slowly leaking lava and sometimes, on clear nights, you can see it glowing from our deck!

The school is super cool. There are 158 churches in Guatemala...45 in the city! How awesome is that!! The school is for the pastors. They are all extremely friendly and are going to be awesome to work with. We have learned new spanish phrases already. Get this - they are all so impressed with our spanish! WOOOHOOOO!

The sweet cooks

Our special cake - soooo yummy!
We worked at the school today until 1. We then went with Sis. L to her Drs. appt which was in a mall. Katie and I fell in love with the book store and panaderia (bakery). We loooooooove it! So many new things. We took a few pictures in the mall as well.
Bread and cookies!
Is that a whisk or what?
We then went to another doctors office (another post about that). We got home around 6 and ordered pizza. Pizza hut is HUGE here! I don't know if that's what we ate but I thought that was interesting. They also have Taco Bell, McDonalds, BK, AppleBees, TGI Fridays, Wendy's....and I think thats all we've seen so far. We climbed in our pjs and had ourselves a girls slumber party. Sis. Lynne is super cool. She is a blast to be around!
That's all for this long post.....I'm going to put some videos in the next one.
Adios from Guatemala!!!
