Weekend Fun

Once again, I had a fun-filled, busy weekend. =) Just what I like. Saturday included getting up super early to watch my cousin's 8:00 soccer game. Am I a devoted cousin or what?
Later that evening, some friends and I hit the town (in our Pentecostal way, at least). We ate at the Mellow Mushroom before going to see The Phantom of the Opera.

This was my first time to ever be exposed to the phantom. It was very interesting. I have to admit that for the first half, I wasn't all that impressed. I had a hard time making out what they were saying when everyone just sang opera. I guess I'm not cultured enough to just effortlessly make out exactly what the actors are trying to convey when they reach some insanely high note and hold it for 30 seconds. =) And the story line, you have to admit, is very odd. So I didn't really know what to think about the play until the second half. Then it got really good. =) I am now a Phantom of the Opera fan. If you just take it at face value, the play is super weird. But if you look past that, it's a great story of tragic love - a love lost and a love found. How sweet is that?

After the play, we went to Purple Onion on Southside (always interesting) for dessert. I made it home just a little before 2 am. I'm really living life on the edge these days. heehee.
Here are some pictures from the weekend. The first few are from hanging out Friday night but the rest are from Saturday night.

You all "culturized" now...
