See this picture of me and Katie smiling with the guards. The one standing beside me was our absolute favorite. He was always eager to help us carry stuff in, give us our mail, just ready to help at whatever he could. He even helped our worker re-tile the bathroom! When we left, he carried all of our extremely heavy suitcases down the stairs. We loved this guy!
The guy standing beside Katie was relatively new. He started the job just a few weeks before we left. We didn't really know this guy very well.
Well...Saturday, Sis Lynne heard gun shots out side of her house. She figured the guards were practicing their shooting (as they have been known to do) so she just glanced out the window. She saw the guard with the glasses throw down his gun and take off running. While Luis, the happy little guard that we loved, was laying in the middle of the road.
Poor Luis was shot twice in the chest on Saturday. I'm not sure what the motive was but it's pretty low to shoot your partner.
I was really saddened to hear about this. How incredibly sad! I've been praying for Sis. L too seeing as she witnessed a guy's death and is now a witness to a murder. Yikes..... Who would have thought Katie and I were standing between a murderer and his victim. =(

Oh my..that is so awful. How scary. Let me know if you find out what was going on. Did they catch the other guard who shot him?
